Larry McCarren
Sports Director at WFRV TV in Green Bay... 12-year center for the Green Bay Packers... The Rock... Color Analyst on the Packer Radio Network. Friday night's keynote speaker is all of those things and more.
Join Larry for a speech full of Packer stories, anecdotes and inside observations from someone who's been there, and who, as the host of his own TV show, Larry's Locker Room, excels at getting Packers players to open up and show their human side.
After playing 12 years as center for the Packers (1973-84) and making Green Bay his home, Larry later turned to television and began sharing his knowledge with viewers. He earned his nickname "The Rock" by playing in 162 consecutive games - the fourth-longest streak in team history - with the Packers while making two Pro Bowl appearances.
Larry is the 4-time winner of Wisconsin Sportscaster of the Year, was inducted into the Packer Hall of Fame in 1992, and the Chicagoland Sports Hall of Fame in 2005.
Larry is also an avid pilot who owns his own plane.
John Shier
John Shier is a Registered Nurse with a message: "Live Long, Die Healthy." Shier, a former Navy intelligence officer, college professor and business executive, made a drastic career change at age 60. Nearly 15 years later, Shier known in many circles simply as "that nurse guy."
His message will resonate with Rotarians at the 2010 District 6270 Conference as Shier challenges audience members to live well into their 90s. The first step in maintaining health is learning and understanding more about it, because nobody cares about your health more than you!
Shier's program describes modern medicine as a "sickness-care" system, not a true "health-care" system as few of the billions of dollars spent on medical care go to maintain heath. It's a system designed around cures, not prevention.
Shier's message is simple to understand, yet difficult to achieve. In the 21st Century, more than ever before, patients and physicians must become partners, working together and sharing knowledge. Together we can transform the American "sickness care system" into a true "health care system." The new system will focus not only on curing the sick but also on preventing disease and maintaining health.
"That Nurse Guy" is certain to change the way you think about health care and your own approach to health and happiness.

Oneida Nation
Long before Brett Favre, Bart Starr, and Vince Lombardi a different kind of champion called the land now known as Green Bay their home - the Oneida Tribe of Indians of Wisconsin.
From their humble roots as hunters and gatherers through a period of great turmoil where wars, disease, and society forced them from their land the Oneida Tribe has managed to endure and today stands as a testament to the perseverance and hard work in northeastern Wisconsin.
Hear their story as members of the Oneida Nation present the highs and lows of a society often overlooked. It's a story of struggle, prejudice and pain. Yet, the Oneida Nation has empowered themselves to rise above the perils of the past and forge a future that combines modern society with their rich cultural history.
