Havin' a ball in Green Bay
As Rotarians we work hard and play hard, especially when we can play at Lambeau Field. The 2010 District Conference is an opportunity to interact with and learn from fellow Rotarians, but in between the programs, meetings and break-out sessions, why not have a little fun?
Tour Lambeau Field and the Packers Hall of Fame
On Friday, May 14 Rotarians and their guests Rotarians will walk the same hallowed ground where many of the NFL's greatest moments have transpired and where the many of the games greatest have gone to work - and play! Enjoy a private tour of Lambeau Field and the Packers Hall of Fame as part of the 2010 District Conference.
Rotary Golf Outing
Rotarians are invited to participate in the annual District 6270 Golf Outing on Friday, May 14 at Thornberry Creek at Oneida golf course - one of the best public courses in Northeast Wisconsin. A variety of flag events will be held with chances to win great prizes.
Tee times are available for both 18 and 9-hole play.
- 18-hole-play tee times begin at 11 a.m. Registration is $50 including a cart.
- 9-hole-play tee times begin at 1 p.m. Registration is $25 including a cart.
Hospitality Rooms
Socialize with your fellow Rotarians in a casual, relaxed setting. On Friday, May 14, a number of Rotary clubs will host Hospitality Rooms – a place where Rotarians can visit and share their experiences and expertise.
In addition we'll show you how to play casino games, provide snacks, music and prizes, and even have a Wii video game system set up to have a little extra fun. We all know Rotarians are hospitable, but this is our chance to prove it!
Hospitality Rooms will be set up from 8:30 to midnight on Friday, May 14 at various locations in the Radisson Hotel and are hosted by:
- All three Oshkosh Rotary Clubs (Southwest, "Downtown" and Morning)
- Lake Country
- Amigos de Milwaukee
The Governor's Ball at Lambeau Field
Dance the night away to the Groove Hogs following a cocktail reception and elegant dinner inside the Legends Club Room.
Big sound, big fun – that’s what you can expect from the Groove Hogs (www.groovehogs.com). This year marks the 15th anniversary for the group, now considered one of the Midwest’s most iconic horn bands. Delivering show-stopping music with horn-fueled intensity, the band plays all the classic Soul, Stax and dance tunes that will have everyone dancing and singing along. Get ready to party! The Groove Hogs will perform from 8:30 until midnight.
A shuttle bus will be available to take Rotarians and their guests from the Radisson to Lambeau Field beginning at 5 p.m. and running every 30 minutes up until midnight.
Oneida Bingo & Casino
If you find yourself with a little downtime during the conference, fear not as your luck is about to change. Adjacent to conference headquarters (The Radisson) is Oneida Bingo & Casino. Try your luck at reel or video slots, table games and more. And as a Rotarian, we're certain any "winnings" will find their way into the Rotary International Foundation. Who knew spending your free time at the District Conference could also make you a Paul Harris Fellow?
