Catch the Ball - District Conference 2010
Fun, elegance and affordablility: May 14, 15 & 16
Rotarians around the world have a reputation for being strong, smart and most of all stewards of their community. Our purpose is to bring together business and professional leaders to provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and to help build goodwill and peace in the world. Those attributes will be on display in May of 2010 as the Oshkosh Southwest Rotary club hosts the annual Rotary 6270 District Conference.
District 6270 Conference 2010
Join us for a weekend filled with fun, elegance and empowerment as Rotarians from across Wisconsin gather in Green Bay for three days programs, entertainment, and information.
The conference will be held from May 14 to 16, 2010 at the Radisson Hotel and Convention Center in Green Bay and promises to offer something for every Rotarian and their significant others.
Fun & Festivities
On Friday afternoon, Rotarians can enjoy a private tour of historic Lambeau Field, home to the National Football League's Green Bay Packers, and the Packers Hall of Fame. You'll get an inside look at the home of a champion as you explore everything from the field to the luxury boxes. At the Hall of Fame you'll learn the history behind one of the most successful professional sports franchises in history - complete with three Lombardi trophies.
On Saturday night, Rotarians will experience a different side of Lambeau Field as the lights will shine brightly for a semi-formal dinner and dance. The Rotary Ball will be the perfect evening to celebrate the achievements of Rotarians in our district and to meet fellow Rotarians as we dance the night away inside the Ballroom at Lambeau Field.
Educational Programs
In between, Rotarians will be treated to a number of speakers, programs and presentations. Speakers include members of the Green Bay Packers, Oneida Nation, and "That Nurse Guy" Jon Shier who will explain how to "Live Long, Die Healthy."
We do so much as individual clubs - it's time to learn from each other
Programs will address a number of topics close to the hearts of Rotarians, including fundraising events, new (younger) member recruitment, and how to provide food and nutrition for hungry families in our communities and around the world.
The 2009-10 District Governer, Bill Wresch, describes these programs and speakers as a time listen to others in our district and talk about worthwhile projects ongoing around the world.
"We do so much as individual clubs - it's time to learn from each other," said Wresch.
There's Something for the Whole Family
Not only is the 2010 District Conference being designed to provide necessary and new information to Rotarians, it's also an invitation to get the extended family involved. The organizing committee has looked for ways to keep the conference affordable for Rotarians and their guests, including $99 hotel rooms at the Radisson which include a complimentary breakfast, as well as shuttle service from the hotel to events at Lambeau Field.
There's only one way to guarantee you don't miss out on the fun, elegance and affordability of the 2010 Rotary District 6270 Conference - register today and we'll see you in Green Bay in May of 2010!
